That One Wrong Number (Part-1)

    It was the afternoon of  7 May 2009. When I heard her voice in a phone call which I had made by mistake.... (phone ringing)

"Hello, who??"

I have always lived with complete freedom, running in the direction
of the wind in my life. I had no goal, no dreams. I used to go and sit on the bench with my friends for hours and hours. And used to hangout day and night.. My only purpose was to have fun in life.. I always thought that, College life is just for fun..!!

My house was located in a small colony. There were so many Farms around my house.. My family consist of 4 members Me, My parents, and My younger brother...

Me: Hello, Shekhar? I'm Mayank.

She: Sorry wrong number.. (hangs up)

Shekhar and I were close childhood friends.. Actually Very close friends.. Shekhar was very different, different in the sense he was a very free living person. He never really used his one phone number for long time. I've almost had his 5-10 numbers saved in my phone contacts.

Me: (in my mind) wrong number?? But her voice was so good..

It was the first time I had ever heard such a soft voice..

In fact, I had never talked to a girl before. Shekhar had many girl bestfriends. But since my childhood, I was very shy to talk to girls. 

I dont know why?? but I dialed that number again..

Me: Hello.. Shekhar??

She: No.. As I said earlier this is not Shekhar's number. I think You have dialed the wrong number. Please check the number once..

(Hangs up)

A boy who never in his life talked to a girl, suddenly spoke to a stranger girl, with such a beautiful voice.. This thought increased my confidence even more. And I felt like speaking again.

Me: (dialed the same number again) (ringing)

She: No response.. (Didn't pick up the phone..)

Shekhar : Mayank.........sssss ...

Hey! come on man, what are you waiting for..?

I hurried to the door.. Thinking of that beautiful voice girl, I almost forgot that Shekhar and I were about to head out.. While walking on the road, I asked Shekhar that which is his correct number?? I called today but somebody said it's wrong number. then he said, Hey!! did you see the last two numbers!? I calmed down and looked.. then I realized that I had put 83 instead of 72.(I have to apologize to her)

I kept thinking about it all the time in my mind, without telling Shekhar..

The phone rang at 5:00 pm in the evening. I was completely shocked, when I saw the phone number.. It was the same number. The phone stopped ringing. I did not dare to pick up my phone.. Finally with a little courage, I dialed the number again.

She: Hello..

Me: Hello.. I dialed 83 instead of 72 in the afternoon. Sorry It was my mistake.

She: No worries, it happens sometimes..

Me:  Yes but I called twice without even noticing the number.. I really made a mistake..

She: No problem..

Me: Sorry if it bothered you..

She: It's OK. (hangs up)

Me: (in my mind) (She seems a little rude)

Anyways, her voice is good.. I was constantly looking at phone to get her message or call. And suddenly at 12:00 pm a message flashed in my mobile.

" Happy Birthday Sanju..!!"

The message came from her number.. yes, the same number of 83.. I opened the message.. and replied.. I am not Sanju.. just then the message of 83 came back.. "Sorry The message was sent to you by mistake." I smiled and I felt very happy..

I knew It happened by mistake, but my communication with her was increasing. And I think the communication I made with universe to get her message or call was successful.
